Thank you, Matt and Robbin Freedman

Matt and Robbin Freedman are long-time friends of Quechua Benefit. Since 2007 they have been alpaca breeders in Eugene, Oregon. Their friendship with Mike Safley and Amanda VandenBosch introduced them to the work of Quechua Benefit, and they’ve attended all 11 of the “Education with a Destination” events in Bend, Oregon.

Mike’s passion motivated them to support the children of Casa Chapi. When Robbin was offered a trip to meet the children in 2014, she said YES! She’s fallen in love with the Peruvians and has been back five times to visit.

Matt and Robbin share a passion for service and caring for others. At this year’s Bend Dinner & Auction they discovered the Adopt-a-Class program for Casa Chapi and donated to give a classroom of children a year of many opportunities to learn and grow. They’re providing:

  • Classes in the music and self-esteem program “Sinfonia por el Peru,” which is creating the Casa Chapi choir and symphony to perform public concerts all around Peru.
  • Uniforms and costumes for sporting events, marching band, choir performances and poetry declamation contests.
  • Field trips, a library of books chosen by the kids and all the supplies their teacher needs.
  • A teacher and tutors for Casa Chapi’s highly effective Learn to Read program.

Thank you, Matt and Robbin, for your commitment to help our kids.
