2018-A Year in Review

Your generosity allowed us to raise a record amount of funds to transform people’s lives. Consider all that you have done with your kindness:

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT: Alpacas lie at the core of the economy among the Quechua people. Our vision for economic empowerment has blossomed this year with the launch of Alliyma and Alpacas.com. Highland women have been trained to sort and grade alpaca fiber that is handspun into quality yarn. Because of you these women now have a year-round job with a living wage.

EDUCATION: Our students at Casa Chapi are meeting and exceeding world reading standards. We also opened a new optometry clinic so all the kids of Casa Chapi who needed eyeglasses now have them. In 2019 we hope to service kids from 20 schools with the clinic. In addition, our girls who are graduating into the 7th grade will have a new home.

PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE: Thanks to your generosity, more than 10,000 school kids have received treatment for anemia and over 60% of them are symptom free today. Our goal for 2019 is to treat 50,000 people in 50 towns.

EDUCATION WITH A DESTINATION: You can be a part of the change that’s happening in Peru. Your generous gifts directly impact the lives of women and children in the highlands. Next year, you can see for yourself what a difference a little love makes on Destination Education: Peru Tour 2019.

Thank you from all of us at Quechua Benefit. We’re looking forward to what we can accomplish together with you in 2019!
