Quechua Benefit is an organization dedicated to helping the Quechua people in the highlands of Peru.
25 years ago, Don Julio Barreda asked the question that began Quechua Benefit: “Is there anything the alpaca breeders in the US could do for the people of my community?” See what your generosity has done in this issue.
The other path is paved with the footprints of people with good hearts from around the world. People simply motivated by their own personal faith, convictions, goodwill and charity. The other path is one devoid of labels, numbers, outcomes, miles traveled or material accomplishment. It is a simple spiritual journey that has led Quechua Benefit sponsors to do whatever good they may do. We need each of you no matter which road you take.
I closed my eyes and considered the evolution of Quechua Benefit beginning with our first trip to Macusani in 1996. It was a simple idea. Now, after twelve years on the ground, with the continued support and open hearts of alpacas breeders, Quechua Benefit might well be able to permanently change lives. The path is clear.
