St. Paul Ichupampa Kitchen and Community Center

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Westminster, MD
in partnership with
Quechua Benefit
supports in the town of Ichupampa, Peru
Sister Antonia Kitchen and
Women’s and Children’s Community Center

The Sister Antonia Kitchen is named in memory of Sister Antonia, a Maryknoll nun from New York, who served hundreds of thousands of hot meals to the people of Peru. The kitchen serves over 100,000 meals a year! 80% of your donation will subsidize meals for Ichupampa’s elderly residents. Their hearts as well as their stomachs will be warm and full when they leave.

A Women’s and Children’s Community Center planned in the existing Kitchen building will be supported with 20% of your donation. It will be staffed by local women who are respected in the community and can be fierce advocates for the women and children, offering advice on health care and making medical referrals. They may offer job training, and family planning advice, suggest employment opportunities, and provide adult education about family violence. Click here to see more photos of Ichupampa.
